The recipients of the Federate Challenge Scholarship are:

Tina Johnson, St. Cloud, second-year student of the St. Cloud Technical & Community College, was awarded $2000 to continue pursuing a degree in Advertising Communication & Design.

Emily Schimnich, Sauk Rapids, graduate of MN Connections Academy, was awarded a $1500 scholarship to purse a degree in Massage Therapy at Ridgewater College.

Alexia Scott, Foley, graduate of Foley High School, was awarded a $500 WWBD (What Would Bri Do) Memorial Scholarship to pursue a degree in Cross-Cultural Ministry at Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Missouri. This scholarship was established to honor the memory of BriAnna Kruzel, a former Little Sister and High School Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program who passed away in September 2013. BriAnna’s family carries on the legacy of kindness and generosity BriAnna exemplified through What Would Bri Do, Inc., a nonprofit organization they founded to give back to the community.

Shelby Johnson, Foley, has been awarded a $500 nursing scholarship. She is currently studying to be an RN at Bethel University. The funding for Big Brothers Big Sisters’ nursing scholarship is provided by an anonymous donor interested in helping a former “Little”/mentee or High School “Big”/mentor pursue their RN degree.

Ann Matvick, Big Brothers Big Sisters Program Director states “It is an honor for Big Brothers Big Sisters to be associated with such generous and philanthropic organizations and individuals through which we can continue to impact the lives of young people and build the future of our communities.”
