Three years ago, Carla Griffin, of Big Lake, was matched with her “Little Sister” Brooklynn though the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. The school setting is an excellent place for a child to receive encouragement and support as well as a convenient meeting location for mentors. For about an hour a week, caring citizens have the opportunity to touch the life of a local student.
Bigs & Littles spend their time together playing board games, doing arts & crafts, working on homework, or simply talking with one another.
There is a great need for mentors in the Central Minnesota area. Some kids wait over a year to be matched.
