Bowl For Kids Sake
SAVE THE DATE - October 15 and 16 at Granite Bowl South in St. Cloud. Join us for this year’s Bowl For Kids’ Sake! BFKS is one of our major fund-raising events, which helps fund our programs. Choose one of the following sessions: Friday, October 15th 3:30-5:00 5:30-7:00 7:30-9:00 Saturday, October 16th 12:00-1:30 2:00-3:30 4:00-5:30 Anyone may participate. Interested bowlers may bowl individually or form a team of up to five friends, co-workers, family members, or neighbors, and get pledges for bowling or pledge themselves. The minimum pledge per bowler is $25, but we encourage participants to get as many pledges as possible. Bowlers enjoy free bowling, shoes and fun while raising money for our program. Be a part of the magic! Plan to join us for this fun and rewarding experience. If you are a Big, ask your Little to bowl with you. Annexstad Family Foundation Scholarship Informational Meeting
On Monday, September 20, 2010 at 6 p.m. at the Big Brothers Big Sisters office there will be an informational meeting regarding the Annexstad Family Foundation Scholarship. Any former or current “Little” who is in 10th grade or above is encouraged to attend along with his/her parent/guardian and/or his /her Big Brother/Sister. Pheasant Hunt
Saturday, September 18 Fischer's Hunt Club, near Albany.  A carpool will meet at Fleet Farm (near the carwash) in Waite Park at 7:15 a.m. and will plan to return around 1:00 p.m. Littles will be matched with an experienced hunter for the day. Littles must have gone through Gun Safety and must bring their Gun Safety Certificate with them. Littles do not need to be accompanied by an adult as they will be paired with a hunting mentor; but parents or Bigs can come along for the experience. These issues, if left unattended, can produce intergenerational patterns of crime and violence.Join us as we discuss and learn how to best support the healthy development of these children!A great training for educators, criminal justice professionals, social workers, psychologists, caregivers, policy makers, parents, other family members and the entire community!

Free Viewing Monday, September 20th 6:30pm at the Paramount Theater in St. Cloud Does America have an unhealthy obsession with beauty? Save the date to attend a special viewing of the critically acclaimed film America the Beautiful to see how these increasingly unattainable images contribute greatly to the rise in low self-esteem, body dismorphia and eating disorders. The movie begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by a discussion led by the documentary's filmmaker, Darryl Roberts, about our culture's obsession with physical beauty and its effect on females of all ages.
